Why can't I hear video audio on my Debut theme homepage?

Hello! I’m struggling to activate the audio of video auto-playing in homepage. Both mobile and DT. Would love advices. Thanks a lot

It’s not possible, by modern browsers standards, to autoplay a video with sound enabled by default. It’s either:

  • Autoplay video, sound must be enabled by user
  • No autoplay, user play video and sound can be enabled by default

So, at least one user interaction is required, it has nothing to do with your theme or Shopify in general. If you want to work around this browser limitation, you’d have to go through a dev that understand this concept.
