What was your idea when you created your store? Why did you think it will serve a niche or offer something unique to the market?
I could give you some generic answer that you could find on the web but if you want real advice, I can take a look at your site (just need your URL). Some SEO is basically marketing principals and some is a bit more technical. Most themes cover a large amount of the technical stuff but not always. This is especially so for site structure with headers.
A couple things that is more so directed to Shopify users:
- Your handle for products is also the slug - it is always best to make sure you have good keywords in your product titles because this is also used for your page slugs.
- Your header tags h1,h2,h3 need keyword phrases (long tail)
- Your title should also include some sort of keyword phrase. Usually people do “company name” | “keyword phrase”
- If you are a local company that also provides local services you will want to make sure you add this schema to the code as Shopify doesn’t do this by default.
- Blogs are great if they are helpful - make sure you are researching your customers and what they may be looking for (information).
- Backlinks help (having other sites link to your site) a great way to get backlinks is by signing up for social networks and including your URL. Sign up for business listing websites and review websites and include your URL there. Sign up for coupon websites and include coupons.
- Make sure you have linked your products to Google shopping.
There is of course a ton more but this is what I find to be the most helpful. There may also be more but seeing your site might help me understand where the pitfalls are.
