What do bundle apps get wrong today?

Topic summary

Pain points raised with existing Shopify bundle apps: limits on how many products can be included in a bundle and widgets that don’t match store themes.

Proposed solution: a new “Product Bundles” app aiming for flexibility—unlimited products per bundle, compatibility with most themes, and quick setup.

Recruitment and offer: seeking 10 merchants as early testers; early testers receive lifetime free access.

Call to action: merchants can comment to express interest or install directly; the team will provide personal support. An app link is provided.

Status: no feedback or outcomes reported yet; testing and recruitment are open.

Quick question for Shopify merchants:
Do bundle apps ever limit your creativity?

I keep hearing:

“I want more products in a bundle, but there’s a limit.”
“The widget doesn’t match my theme.”

So we built Product Bundles to be flexible:

  • Unlimited products per bundle
  • Works with most themes
  • Setup in minutes

We’re looking for 10 merchants to test it (Early testers get lifetime free access) and share honest feedback.

Looks like they do – Yarn shop - customisable yarn kit with real-time inventory syncing

hey there..

cool to see more flexible options popping up.. the “limit” on products usually comes down to how the app handles the line items in the checkout api vs the cart transformation.. especially with the newer shopify functions, we should definitely be moving past those hard caps..

one thing i’d suggest keeping an eye on during your beta is how the inventory deducts if a bundle is partially returned or if the components have different tax codes/fulfillment services.. that backend logic is usually where the “unlimited” promise hits a wall technically, rather than just the visual widget limits..

good luck with the beta.. lifetime access is a solid incentive for early adopters..

Hi @ruchita_bhalala

Totally fair pain points. A lot of bundle apps look good on paper, then you hit “max items per bundle” limits, or the widget styling just doesn’t sit right with your theme.

If you’re recruiting early testers, I’d suggest you make the “unlimited bundle items + theme-friendly widget” promise super tangible with examples (like: “bundle 8 items, mixed variants, still loads fast” and screenshots on Dawn + a couple popular paid themes).

Also, make sure the setup doesn’t require manual CSS, because that’s usually where people drop off, in my experience.

And if you want a proven option while you’re still testing, you can also look at cart-based bundling that matches the theme more naturally. iCart Cart Drawer Cart Upsell is a solid pick for that.

I have been using this app to run product bundle offers inside the cart drawer (so it inherits the store’s look and feel better).

Good luck
