I’ve been thinking about adding personalization options to a few of my Shopify products, but I’m not sure if it’s a real growth driver or just a niche add-on.
For those of you who’ve been selling personalized items, could you please share:
Hi @PrettyShop,
Yes, product personalization can work in Q4. Here are some insights we got from the data over 8 million Shopify orders processed through Teeinblue, along with top products of ShineOn:
-
Personalized products consistently leads to higher average order values compared to general ones.
-
Simple personalization still work well. The top three personalization options by among our sellers are simple types: custom text (48.64%), clipart (24.57%), and photo upload (20.54%).
-
A fast-emerging trend this year is Gen AI images. It transforms customer-uploaded photos into stylized artwork using Generative AI. Within just the first month after our launch, over 106.000 AI-generated images were created (about 3,300 per day).

Hi @PrettyShop,
I hope you are doing well. Product personalization can definitely be a growth driver, especially in Q4 when customers are shopping for gifts. Simple personalization like text or photo uploads absolutely works - names, initials, dates, or a quick photo addition often drive higher engagement and increase average order value. Small graphics or clipart are also popular add-ons. Giving customers a live preview of their personalization can further improve conversions.
If you want an easy way to offer these personalization options on Shopify, you can try Inkybay – Product Personalizer App. With Inkybay, customers can upload images, add text, choose fonts and colors, insert graphics or QR codes, and even see a live preview of their design. All customization details are automatically included in the order file, making order management smooth and simple.
