Why am I getting visitors but no sales on my new online store?

Dear Community,

I am reaching out to share my recent experience with my newly launched online store. It has been approximately three days since I released my store, which features a wide range of trending products. I am pleased to inform you that the initial feedback from both individuals and Shopify experts has been incredibly positive, with many expressing confidence in the potential of my store.

However, despite the promising start and efforts to promote my store through various channels, including TikTok advertisements with an investment of £120 GBP (Pound), I have not been able to generate any sales so far. Adding to my disappointment, I recently received a bonus from TikTok amounting to approximately £500, which I promptly reinvested in a highly sought-after summer product, specifically air conditioners. Regrettably, I have only managed to secure two sales despite spending around $600-700 on advertising.

This situation has left me perplexed, as my store has attracted approximately 2,500 visitors and garnered an impressive 70-80k views across my TikTok videos, each showcasing different products. The significant gap between the number of views and visitors to actual sales is disheartening and difficult to comprehend. I am genuinely puzzled by this phenomenon and sincerely request your assistance in resolving this matter.

I kindly implore you to take a moment to review my store at quickbargains.net. Any insights or suggestions you can provide to help me overcome this challenge would be immensely appreciated. I find myself in a rather demoralized state due to this situation, and your guidance and expertise would go a long way in aiding my recovery.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to your valuable input and support.

Warm regards

Hey @paiwand1 .

Thanks for reaching out.

Looking into your online store, I did notice that you do not have a Favicon added to the homepage. A Favicon is a small image that represents a website the web browser tabs - if you look at the top tab bar right now, you may see several Favicons! Typically, a Favicon will feature a logo or the first letter of the business. It is simply an image that reflects the specifics of the website it represents. Adding a Favicon to your online store can help strengthen the brand and add a polished look to your website. On top of that, it can provide your visitors with a sense of security by knowing that the online store is completely customized.

I love that you have added your contact information in the header of the online store and have product reviews available!

You can add more social media links to your footer of the store. At the moment, it looks like you have your Instagram business page linked - you can link your TikTok and other social media links by adding your socials to the footer of store using the Theme Editor.

Let me know what you think and if you have any questions.

Hello @paiwand1 ,

Greetings from flareAI app helping Shopify merchants get $6Million+ in sales from Google Search, on autopilot! I am Gina, and I am here to help.

Having taken a close look at your store, I believe that the below suggestions could help drive sales.

  1. Add product reviews as most of the customers read the review before purchasing the product. Even sometimes by reading reviews, customers may look to understand whether your product will suit their particular situation and make the decision to purchase the product.
  2. Add average ratings for each product
Including both user rating and number of ratings on the products will help users to make decision whether to buy your product or not.
  3. You can add testimonials on the home page to make the store look more professional. Testimonials allow your satisfied customers to step forward and address the questions and objections that fill the minds of your prospective buyers for you.
  4. Add social media like Facebook, TikTok, and Twitter for the store to increase the visibility of your social media profiles, making it easier for customers to find and follow you on different platforms.
  5. Add sticky header
Adding sticky header allow users to quickly access the navigation, search, and utility-navigation elements without scrolling up to the top of the page. They increase the discoverability of the elements in the header and the chance that users will take advantage of them.

To optimize the performance of your online store, ensure that your traffic is of high quality, offer products relevant to your target audience, create a user-friendly website, set competitive prices, provide fast shipping, optimize product pages with high-quality visuals, offer incentives such as free shipping or discounts, run email marketing campaigns, and prioritize excellent customer service. By implementing these strategies, you can enhance customer engagement, increase conversions, and drive overall success for your Shopify store.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you require any additional assistance.

A low conversion rate might be simply due to a lack of “extra” incentive for the consumer to follow the link juice to the end. So, I fully agree with the other comments recommending that you embed links to your socials. Also, think about using web push notifications and even automatic email sequences notifying customers of an abandoned cart
