Problem: Blog post images appeared blurry in the Studio theme, although they were sharp in Files preview. Attempts with different formats/sizes didn’t help; code changes to remove size constraints were considered.
Initial advice: In Theme Customizer, set Blog post > Featured image height to Adapt to image. This was already enabled and only affects the featured image, not inline content images.
Key finding: The blog editor allows choosing image size on insert. Selecting 1024x1024 or inserting at Original Size and then shrinking via drag handles introduced scaling blur.
Resolution: Export images at intended display dimensions and reasonable file size (e.g., 900x1350 under 200 KB), then insert as Original Size in the editor. This preserved image clarity. No code edits were necessary. Screenshots illustrated where to change these settings.
Status: Resolved; no outstanding questions.
All of the photos posted on my blog are blurry using the Studio theme, I’ve tried different sizes (bigger/smaller), jpg/png, matching to dimensions etc but nothing is improving the appearance.
I’m pretty sure I can delete the dimensions in the code but I don’t know where to find them.
I noticed that when I preview the photo in Content - Files it appears crystal clear. So there is some issue with inserting it in the blog post.
If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it.

You can solve the issue with your image from Shopify admin > Online store > Themes > Customize > select Blogs on drop down menu at the top center > Blog post > Featured image height > select Adapt to image.
Hi Dan, thanks for your reply. The featured image height is already set for Adapt to Image, I am looking for a way to make all of the photos in the content of my blog posts less blurry by deleting the specifications for blog photo size, as I read on another post that this worked for other people on their Product and Collection pages. Let me know if you think this could work or if you have any other suggestions.
Yes I think that is it! I have tried before to insert as Original Size and it was so huge it took me forever to shrink the image down in the blog with those little arrows, so I was inserting it at 1024x1024 and I think that was distorting it. This time I exported from Lightroom keeping size under 200kb, dimensions at 900x1350 and then inserted at Original Size - fixed it!
