Why are some products not consistently publishing on Facebook?

We have 117 products (excluding gift cards which is the only product we offer which does not require shipping). All products have a title and description. When I filter products for “Publishing error on Facebook”, I get none. When I filter for products for “Availability is unavailable on Facebook” I get none. When I look under Facebook on our store admin page it shows 118 products (117 actual products plus gift card) as “Approved” under Product Status.

However, on any given day, the number of products actually on our Facebook page (after clicking “See all”) is always less than 117 (has been 106, 105, 107) with no filters for “On Sale” or “Out of Stok” turned on. Each time I have done a detailed analysis of the differences, there are normally several products shown twice on Facebook (once the same product was shown 3 times on Facebook). There are anywhere from 13 to 17 products excluded from the samples I have analyzed. (I have analyzed 5 listings over 3 different dates (two dates were run with the out-of-stock filter and with one with the out-of-stock filter on).

From my analysis:

  • 10 products consistently do not publish on Facebook in any of the samples (from different collections)

  • the other products which did not publish to Facebook are inconsistent between samples

  • the duplicates are different between samples

  • there were even inconsistencies (other than out of stock items) between Facebook publications on the same day (one with the filter for out of stock on and one with it off)

  • The out-of-stock filter did work properly

  • the order of the product being listed on Facebook was different each time with no patterns identified (other than out of stock items were always in the last 10 products published).

  • while the gift card was included in the products on the Admin Facebook page as Approved, it did not publish in any of the Facebook samples. I understand it is not supposed to publish as it has not a shipping requirement. Thus I ignored gift cards in my analysis.

At this point, I am confused. Any ideas or feedback on what I should be looking for or why the inconsistencies are happening would be appreciated.
