I have just linked Boxify to my webstore, and dialed in weights and dimensions for products. This was the only app I could find that did not list a requirement for the Advanced Shopify plan in their description.
I can see the “Carrier Rates” options for Boxify under “Shipping Profiles”, but when I test eligible items at checkout I do not see any shipping options provided by Boxify.
I do not have “Advanced Shopify”, is this the reason that the rates are hidden?
If so, do you know of any workarounds or app alternatives that will allow me to use different box dimensions and charge customers accurate shipping rates (one “default box” that Shopify allows natively does not work for the varied items that we sell).
Thank you!
Hey @Captain_Ed ,
I know you likely found an answer to your problem by now, but I wanted to post an answer here for other users who are experiencing this.
Boxify, like all Shopify shipping apps requires Shopify’s third-party carrier rates feature. Unfortunately, some app companies aren’t transparent about this requirement. You don’t need to upgrade your plan to gain access to this feature, you can pay $20/mo a-la-carte to have it added, or switch to annual billing to get it added for free and also save 10% on your Shopify subscription. Without the feature, you can still use the app though it is essentially useless since it won’t “talk” to Shopify and return rates at checkout.
If you are looking for a more feature rich dimensional shipping solution that has faster rate response times and more shipping carriers integrated, I encourage you to try Smart Boxing. We’re free to install and come with a 14-day live trial so you can take it for a test drive.
Warm regards,
Sharon
Hi,
As Sharon has already mentioned, all Shopify shipping apps require Shopify’s carrier-calculated shipping to be enabled to display shipping rates from different carriers at checkout. You can enable by choosing any of the three options:
- Upgrade your plan to Advanced Shopify Plan
- Add this feature for an additional $20/month on your current Shopify plan
- Choose a yearly subscription for your current Shopify plan, with which you can get this option for free along with a 10% discount.
You can contact Shopify support to enable this in your store.
Regarding the alternatives for Boxify, one of the choices is Smart Boxing as Sharon has suggested. Another option is to use our Multi Carrier Shipping Label app. The app allows you to add dimensions for all your products, and with the Box packing method in the app, you can set up different packages for your products based on their weight & dimensions.
So, whenever your customer places an order, the app automatically chooses the right box and calculates the accurate rates accordingly. Apart from this, you can also integrate different carriers, print shipping labels, and also automate the tracking process with the app.
