Why can't I reach my new online store site?

Topic summary

A user encountered an ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT error when trying to access their newly opened Shopify store from their PC, though the site loaded successfully on their phone.

Diagnosis:

  • Other users confirmed the store was accessible on their end, displaying a password-protected page as expected
  • This indicated a local connectivity issue rather than a site-wide problem

Troubleshooting steps recommended:

  • Clear browser cache and cookies
  • Try incognito/private browsing mode
  • Test with different browsers (Chrome, Safari, etc.)
  • Disable firewalls or pop-up blockers
  • Switch from Wi-Fi to mobile data for testing

Resolution: The original poster confirmed the issue was resolved and the site is now working correctly.

Note: A separate user later posted about domain-related access problems, but this appears to be an unrelated issue that hasn’t been addressed yet.

ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT

Although there is no active theme, I can still access the site on my end.

Hi @stryroad ,

I hope you’re doing well today!

When I visit stryroad-store.myshopify.com, I’m currently landing on a password-protected page. As of any changes you’ve made since posting your question here, is this expected?

Let me know if you’re still seeing anything unfamiliar on your end or if you run into any questions launching your storefront.

Thanks!

I have not made any changes. Few hours ago I tried to use my phone and connected perfectly. But on pc, the error msg is still coming up. I am beginning to think might be the wifi I am connection I’m connected to.

Interesting! It does sound like a local issue then thankfully, as I’m able to visit your storefront below:

While it may very well be your current Wi-Fi that is to blame, we can also rule out a few other factors. Here are a couple of things you can try to isolate the issue:

  • Clear your cache and cookies
  • Try an incognito browser
  • You can also try another browser (eg. Safari, Google Chrome)
  • Try completing the same steps on your phone, using data rather than WiFi
  • Ensure there are no pop ups being blocked in the web browser
  • Ensure there are no firewalls or pop up blockers enabled on the device.

I’d love to hear how that goes, once you have the chance to work through a few of those troubleshooting steps. Good luck!

Thank you. It is perfectly working now.
