Why does 'Checkout isn't available' pop up when placing a test order?

I am trying to place a test order and I followed the video. I added an item to my cart went to check out and this automatically pops up

Checkout isn’t available

In order to enable checkout for your customers, you must pick a plan.
If you’re trying to customize the look and feel of your checkout, edit your theme.

please help!

  • Which video are you watching for the steps to test your checkout?
  • When did you start your free trial?
  • Have you already selected a plan for your account?

Based on the error message you’re getting it sounds like you might not have selected a plan for your account yet. You can select a plan by going to Settings > Plan in your Shopify Admin. The steps are explained in more detail on this page and you can also compare our plans and pricing on this page. Once you’ve chosen a plan you should be able to test your checkout following this guide here. If you select a plan and are still having trouble, please let me know!
