Why does my domain redirect to myshopify.mydomain.com?

I’ve got a domain www.mydomain.com and I’ve used the guide on the help page to point it to my web store fine. The only issue now is when I go to www.mydomain.com the URL changes to myshopify.mydomain.com

Any pointers?

I’m glad you were able to use our Help Center guides to get your domain connected. It sounds like you need to set your new domain as the primary domain still.

When you have more than one domain on your store, you can set which one is the primary domain and you can also set if other domains you are using redirect to one specific one. To set your primary domain, please follow these steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Domains.

  2. In the Primary domain section, click Change primary domain.

  3. Select the domain that you want to set as your primary domain.

  4. Click Save.

Please ensure that your new domain is fully setup and working before setting it to your primary domain. If you have any issues, feel free to share a screenshot of your current domain setup and I can help you troubleshoot.
