I have tried several SEO companies over the years with absolutely zero positive results. I’m now trying again, and they tell me it takes 3 to 6 months to start seeing results. Why does it take so long? I almost immediately started getting dozens of new “hits” to my website, but yet not a single sale. Where are these hits coming from? If these are real people clicking to my site, common sense says they are interested in my products and at least one of them would make a purchase. Again, I’ve gotten thousands of new hits now and still not a single sale. Smells fishy to me, are all SEO companies scammers??? What’s the difference if the hit comes in month 1 or month 6? If it’s a legitimate person interested in my products, they’re not likely to wait 6 months to make a purchase.
I have other customers, so it’s not that I have bad products or bad prices.
This is one answer I got, but I don’t see it on my post, so I’m copy/pasting:

Hi there,
I completely understand your frustration—after trying several SEO companies without success, it’s hard not to feel skeptical about the process. Let me shed some light on why SEO can take time and how we can turn those “hits” into real sales.
Quality Over Quantity:
Not all traffic is created equal. The initial surge in visitors might be coming from sources that aren’t your ideal customers, or in some cases, even bots. Real SEO focuses on attracting high-quality, targeted traffic—people who are genuinely interested in what you offer.
Before I continue which kind of SEO did you run for your store?
Is it On Page SEO or Off Page SEO?
Tom, I’m sorry I don’t know the answer to your question. All I can tell you is the company is called Ad Intent.
You mentioned some of the hits may come from bots. I suspect they are almost ALL coming from bots, which is how these companies make it look like they are actually accomplishing something.
