Hey, I tried to place an order at a store and it was canceled because it was marked as fraudulent by shopify. Is there a way to fix it so it’s not? I tried several times after, and all were canceled. Now I have to wait for the funds to be available again in my account. How long does this usually take? @Staff
Hey, @ravioliravioli . Hope you’re well!
I’m not sure if you’re writing in as the store owner trying to place an order in your own store, or as a customer trying to place an order. I’ll give help for both scenarios.
If you are the store owner and you’re trying to place an order in your own store, this is something that you will want to avoid doing as it can be considered money laundering or credit card fraud. If you are trying to place a test order, you can follow this help doc explaining all the steps involved.
If you are a customer trying to place an order for a business, every Shopify store has fraud analyst technology to protect merchants. There are a few indicators for an order to be flagged. Check the following list to make sure none applies to you:
- whether the credit card used for the order passes AVS checks
- whether the customer provided the correct CVV code
- details about the IP address used to place the order
- whether the customer tried to use more than one credit card.
If any of the following do you will want to change your IP address and then correct any other indicators that may apply. Please let me know if you have more questions about this.
