Why haven't I received a refund after order cancellation?

I ordered from a Shopify Vendor on 5th of December and cancelled on the 9th December and received a Shopify Cancelled Email:

ORDER #1671

.

On further reading it looks like the vendor has a history of this..

Why do I not have my money?

Additionally once a order is cancelled I can no longer enquire or interact with shopify system as it says the order is cancelled. This leaves me as a customer totally stonewalled.

This becomes a dead end so you can no longer report problems.

I was forced to report the issue as an “legal activity” as that was the next best option open to me.
as the other options are barred once the order has been cancelled.

Hey @ArchieChow .

Thanks for getting in touch! Sounds like you’re having an issue with an order that you placed through an online store, and you never received your refund. This is never a good experience while shopping online, so let me help out the best I can!

For context, Shopify is no different from like a Shopping Mall with many boutiques/stores leasing their spot in the mall. The mall does not have any direct involvement in how the store operates in general or with any orders or refunds. Please do know as well that our team can only proceed with investigating on this matter once a complaint has been successfully filed along with the required details about the transaction. You definitely took the next best steps by filing your complaint at the link threaded in your post.

However, you might have been trying to contact this store for weeks already, and you still haven’t heard from them about your refund. What I suggest is you go to your bank or service that you used to pay for the order to help you submit a dispute with them. This way, they can help you get your money back.

Let me know if you have any questions, and have a great week ahead!
