A client contacted me today about their store’s domain name not working.
The client said they purchased the Domain Name from the Shopify backend but since the domain is already linked to a Google email address they would like to hold on to the Domain Name.
I suggested the domain was expired but when I checked it on whois it says -
The domain buildershouse.co.za is unable to be purchased elsewhere because it is already connected and pointing to Shopify.
I suggest the client get in touch with Shopify support to ensure their account is currently on a paid Shopify subscription. If they have missed paying a bill then the store becomes frozen therefore making the domain unavailable.
Shopify Support can assist with transferring a domain out of the frozen store and to another domain provider if need be.
