Why is my recently purchased domain still available for sale?

hi i recently bought a domain thru shopify and the money was taken throw my account but for some risen it tells me to wait 48hours and it has been 3 days and still didn’t get it and whene i go to the domain and search it up it says its still available to buy can i get help with this problem

When purchasing a domain through Shopify, it can take up to 48 hours for the domain to start working. To complete the setup process, you’ll need to verify your email address to complete the domain registration.

Please be sure to check your email account for several emails from Shopify that you’ll need to review. If you’re unable to locate these emails, check your spam and junk folder as well. You can find more information on our buying a domain through Shopify resource.

These emails include details about the following:

  • confirming your purchase
  • verifying your email address
  • managing how your data is shared.

If you’re still experiencing issues on your end, you can contact our team by creating a support request via the Shopify Help Center. I’ll share the steps below for better visibility.

How to contact Shopify Support:

  • Navigate to our Shopify Help Center and log in to your store
  • Select Store Settings from the topics provided
  • Select Domains > Buy a domain from the subtopics provided
  • Scroll down to Get Support where you’ll see our available support options displayed
