Why is my staff member unable to access the shop inbox despite having permissions?

I added a staff member to my shop and gave him necessary permissions but the shopify inbox keeps telling him he’s not authorized to use the app

what shall I do?

Which permissions did you give to your staff member? We have a help centre document here that lists all the required permissions that a staff member needs to have in order to access Shopify Inbox.

If your staff member is still having issues accessing Shopify Inbox however, even with the permissions listed on the help guide, can you get them to follow the troubleshooting steps below?

  • Try to access Shopify Inbox via an incognito window
  • Or, they can use the usual browser that they normally use, but to clear the browser’s cookies and cache
  • They can also try another browser. For example, if they’re using Safari, they can try accessing Shopify Inbox on Chrome or Firefox
  • They can also try to use another device, such as a mobile or a tablet
