I cannot see apply pay in my checkout. Tried it with many iphones and mac browsers, Please help
Hi @jd212121
Thank you for reaching out here, and welcome to the Shopify Community.
I understand that you are not seeing Apple pay as an option in your checkout, and are wondering why. I would be happy to help you troubleshoot this here.
Thanks for confirming that you have enabled Apple Pay as a payment option in your Shopify Payments settings, and for providing the helpful screenshots for me to get a better idea of your setup - much appreciated.
Generally if the Apple Pay button is not appearing in your checkout, itâs most likely because the requirements for using Apple Pay have not all been met. I would highly suggest having a read through this resource here, which outlines the various criteria for being eligible to use Apple Pay.
The most obvious criteria to be able to access the Apple Pay button, is that your customers need to use one of the following devices that support Apple Pay: iPhone (SE, 6, 6 Plus, or newer), iPad (Pro, Air 2, mini 3, or newer), Apple Watch, MacBook Pro with Touch ID, or any Mac model (2012 or newer) in combination with an Apple Pay-enabled iPhone or Apple Watch.
I would also suggest having a read through the acceptable use guidelines for Apple Pay on the web, to ensure that you are meeting all of those requirements. Itâs worth noting that if your store is new and/or Shopify Payments has only recently been set up (or Apple Pay recently enabled), then you may need to wait for about 24 hours for Apple Pay to become visible on your storefront.
Feel free to check out the above, and let me know if you are still experiencing issues - we can definitely troubleshoot this further if you continue to encounter problems with Apple Pay. Besides this issue, how is the rest of your store coming along? I would love to know what you are working on, and hear more about your business and the kinds of products you sell.
I have complied with all requirements. Still cannot see apply pay. Tried with many devices. Please help
Hi @jd212121
Thanks for getting back to let me know that you have checked out all of my previously mentioned requirements, and you believe you are compliant. I understand you are still not seeing Apple pay in your checkout.
Here are some other things to check, in order to troubleshoot this situation further:
- Something else worth checking is to make sure that your Shopify Payments account is fully operational and in good standing. If there are issues with your account such as incomplete verification or payments on hold, then you should see warning messages in your Shopify admin.
- Also, make sure the customer accounts setting on your store is not set to required. You will see this if you navigate to Settings > Checkout - there you can ensure the *'*Require the customer to log in to their account before checkoutâ checkbox is not enabled. On this same page, make sure âCompany nameâ is also not set to Required - this should be set to âOptionalâ or âDonât Includeâ in order to use Apple Pay.
- Are you using a custom domain on your store, and is it set up and functioning correctly?
- Have you made sure to disable the password page on your store, so that the storefront is fully accessible to customers?
- Are you using a cart drawer on your store theme? This is a cart that pulls out from the side or top of the store, or a pop up cart. This may lead to not seeing the Apple Pay button correctly in certain situations.
- Do you have any subscription apps installed on your store? Some apps will not allow accelerated checkouts to be used for subscriptions.
There is a good bit of information to check through there, so take your time and work through each part. If you are still experiencing issues with Apple pay not appearing after this, then I would suggest contacting our support team directly using this link here, as we will most likely need to take a closer look and loop in other teams to investigate if necessary.
Same for our store. Weâve checked all the above points and still it is not showing. Weirdly it is showing Google Pay for a Mac using safariâŚ
Hello Rick,
My shop is experiencing the same problems and I have checked everything you mentioned. It has been more than 24 HRS since enabling Apple Pay, but it was within the last week. Do you have any more suggestions? Also I can not get âapprovedâ to sell on Shop, even though I have met all the requirements. The last one that wonât check itself is âHave an active Shopify Payments accountâ. in which I do. Thanks.
Thanks for reaching out here for help! Welcome to the Shopify Community.
I understand that Apple Pay is also not showing in your checkout, despite the fact that you have read through all of my previous replies in this thread and they havenât helped you to solve this.
Here on the Shopify Community we cannot access your account information, so we are somewhat limited in the level of account/store specific support we can provide. If the above information hasnât helped then I would suggest that you reach out to our support team directly, so that we can take a closer look at what is happening and see what can be done to assist.
Feel free to explain the situation to one of our support advisors via our help center here, and make sure to confirm the steps you have already taken so far. When you click that link above, you will see a chat assistant window in the bottom right. You will need to interact there and type something such as âlive chatâ, and the system will provide you with the option to reach our team.
Software dev here!
To all those who canât make it work, thatâs what worked for me:
I unchecked googlePay and applePay from SETTINGS > PAYMENT > MANAGE section. Ran the website. After checked googlePay and applePay back again.
youâre welcome!
Yeah - basically turn everything on and off again!
I own you a coffee
Oat flat white please ![]()
Thank you so much
Try turning it off and back on under Setting > Payments > Manage Payments. Worked for me.
Mine was not working because it didnât have www. In front on my domain, I added it in the domain settings, dns setting , add custom cname record, and add www. In front of your domain you had.
This has to be the dumbest fix ever. Thanks for sharing. I owe you big time!
I could kiss you! This has been stressing me out for a couple weeks and I only just found your post. Absolute hero!
Didnât work for me only Apple Pay not showing everything else works
What fixed it for me was to make sure that my âPrimary Domain (Current)â was set on the domain starting with www, and not the one without it - as Shopify set it by default (I bought my domain through Shopify). Estevanoâs comment helped. Didnât know how to add the www, but making the full domain (that starts with www and has SSL active) to the be Primary domain solved the problem. Settings â Domains â click your Online store that has SSL active i.e. www.example.com â Change domain type â Primary domain (Current)
