When adding your property in Google Search console, make sure you add: https://martiej.com/
There should be no www.
This is because you’ve selected non www as your URL - it’s important to stay consistent when setting up in search console.
If you’v verified the www. version, you need to set it up again from scratch. Start again and this time add https://martiej.com/ as the property. Then go through all the ownership verification followed by sitemap submission.

I am so confused right now. Let me start at the beginning. Shopify gave me https://martiej.com. How do I change it to https://www.martiej.com?
Why do you want to change to www.martiej.com?
What I meant - Go to Google Search Console and set up a new property - add martiej.com as the name of your new property.
See screenshot below. Click on Continue and complete everything from there.
Once you set it up this way, it takes into any considerations of www or http, and you will not experience the issues you’ve described. This is the correct way to set it up.
