Why isn't my nav menu displaying in Safari on Mac desktops and laptops?

Hi, I am working in Maker theme and the site loads fine in Chrome, Edge, Firefox & IOS mobile safari, but not on Mac desktop/laptop Safari browser - the main menu nav disappears. I’ve searched the discussion boards for a solution but haven’t found anything. Screenshots below.

Missing Nav - Safari browser:

Chrome/Edge/Firefox/IOS mobile safari - Nav shows correctly:

Hi, @createwithkadi !

Thanks for reaching out in our Community forums and for sharing your concern, I’d be happy to help.

I understand how important it is to have a fully functioning navigation bar across all devices and sometimes editing the theme code can lead to a few errors. Rest assured, we will get this sorted! Anyhow, I was able to check out your homepage on an M1 MacBook Air on Safari and it seems as though the menu is being shown correctly:

Kindly let me know if this is not the case on your end and provide the specifications of your device. Also, ensure that your browser is updated to the latest model to ensure that is not a local issue on your end.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Hi @Mac_2 - Thanks for checking this out. I am waiting to hear back from my client but the screenshot they sent me (see below) shows a MacBook Pro. They also have issues with the checkout button just spinning/thinking and not going forward.

I also tested it using CrossBrowserTesting.com (since I don’t have a Mac) and it is missing the nav when I set it to desktop Mac OSX 10.14 using Safari 12.

Hi again, @createwithkadi !

Thank you for following up with that additional information.

I reached out to a few of my colleagues using similar devices and they also confirmed that they were able to see the navigation menu. However, I do understand your concern as the navigation menu and checkout buttons are crucial for your business. so kindly suggest a few local troubleshooting steps for the affected customers in the meantime:

  • Clear your cache and cookies on your browser. After this, completely reboot the browser.
  • Try a different web browser to rule out any browser issues.
  • Try another device, like another computer or mobile phone.
  • Try another internet connection (switching to a cellular network on a phone rather than wifi, for example)
  • Ensure you do not have any firewalls or pop up blockers enabled on the device as these can interfere.

Feel free to update this thread the customer is able to confirm that they are on the latest IOS as well as the latest version of Safari. Once you have this information, we’d be happy to continue assisting you through live chat, email, or callback. Please visit our Help Center and log in to your account to create a support request.

Hi all! Looping back with an update/solution.

My issue was a third party app I had installed and later deleted but found there was still code remaining from it and had to delete those assets individually. After removing, the menu bar showed up in Safari again.

Currently still having issues with the search bar modal pop up as it doesn’t seem to show the pop up search bar in Safari either. Working with theme’s support team on that now.

Hi again, @createwithkadi !

Thank you very much for following up with an update.

I’m happy to hear that the issue was resolved by removing the third party app code. The second issue sounds like it could be related to the first, but I’m glad to see that theme support is looking into it for you.

Feel free to provide additional updates as they can be very beneficial to other members of the community!

Have a great day!

Hi @createwithkadi ,

I am having the same issue here. Could you please tell me how you found about that third party app that was blocking your bar ?
I am definitely not a specialist here, but I would love to find a solution.
Thanks.
