Why won't my Chipper 2X BT pair with my iPhone 11 or iPad 12.9?

This is the second device I have received and no matter what has been tried I continue to get the error “Pairing Failed”. I have tried on both my iPhone 11 and iPad 12.9. Contacted customer support who had me remove the POS app and re-install it, turn off Bluetooth, and power down the device for 5 minutes then try again. I have made sure that the POS application is up to date (currently running 669.0 build 1002). Both devices see the card reader, but simply will not connect.

I was assisted with this issue from Shopify. It turns out that having my account set for test payments would not allow the card reader to pair. Make sure you do not have the payment feature set for test mode.

Deleting and reinstalling the app worked for me (logging out and back in did NOT work). I was pretty frustrated that I had to do it, but it turned out to be a fairly painless process.
