Hey everyone, David from SearchPie here.
With Black Friday Cyber Monday just around the corner, I know everyone is deep in planning their ads, emails, and inventory. It’s easy to let SEO slip, but right now, high-intent shoppers are already on Google searching for “BFCM deals” and “holiday gift guides.”
While ads are essential for the rush, capturing this “free” organic traffic is crucial for a truly profitable season. The key is to make your changes now, as Google needs time to crawl and index your updates before the big weekend. A last-minute change won’t be seen in time.
Our team at SearchPie put together a practical, 7-day SEO checklist to help you get your store ready. It breaks down the most important tasks from content and keywords to technical SEO and speed into a simple, day-by-day plan so you don’t get overwhelmed.
Day 1 & 2: Focus Content
On Day 1, Content should be your priority! Finding keywords, prepare 2 - 3 blog posts that are BFCM related, update your FAQs with BFCM policies and prepare a ‘Gift Guide/Holiday Bundles’ Internal Link as well!
Day 3: Focus Product Page/Collection Page
Now after updating your content, it is time to update your meta title and description with keywords that are BFCM related. Your product title and product description should get a make over as well!
Day 4: Focus Off-page SEO
Time to also let your other social media platform know that it is about that time of the year again! Update your social profiles on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, etc.
Day 5: Focus Technical SEO
This is the technical day! Take a look at your Google Search Console situation, mainly the Shopping, Enhancement, Indexing sections.
Day 6 Focus: Speed
Your site speed is one the most important factor in conversion rates as well as your traffic. Take a look at your images, see if them if they are compressed are not, enable our Instant Page feature!
Also check your speed via Google PageSpeed Insights, test out your current speed situation!
Day 7 Focus: Tracking & Analytics
And on the final day, have a look at your numbers! Set up your UTM for your all of your emails, ads and other social campaigns.
Also double check your Google Analytics!
I’ve attached the full checklist HERE. I truly hope it helps you get a few quick wins and capture more organic traffic this season.
