I tested the payment myself, and it is fine, I wonder why customers failed to check out? Can anyone help, please?
Hi Cwordswo,
You’re dealing with the typical ABANDONED CART issue that comes with the eCommerce industry. It’s normal and to be expected. The average abandon cart rate is 68% across the board in all industry sectors.
SOLUTIONS
- Set your auto-response settings inside of your Shopify checkout page to reach out to every customer who didn’t buy within 10 hours of abandoning their checkout. Shopify provides you with that auto-response tool FREE of cost. This type of email marketing campaign (auto-response after a website visit) has an open rate of 45% compared to only 18% for typical emails sent from retailers. One-in-five cart abandon cart emails get opened and 11% will purchase something as a result.
- Make getting in touch easier. Consider adding a ‘Chat Bot’ to the bottom of your cart page or product pages. Often shoppers have questions or trust issues before pulling out their credit card. See that they can chat with someone live can boost consumer confidence tremendously.
- C****onsider reducing clutter in cart page and checkout page. I’m not saying that you webpage is cluttered. What I’m suggesting is that you may want to do some A/B split testing. Create two or three different looking landing pages for certain products. See which landing page generates the most sales.
