Adjust price on a Draft Order

Topic summary

A user is frustrated that Shopify’s draft orders don’t allow direct price editing in 2025, despite multiple community requests for this feature.

The official workaround—creating duplicate products with different prices—is impractical as it clutters inventory.

Third-party solutions exist (like the Draftable app), but they require monthly fees after limited free actions, which the user wants to avoid.

Current Status:

  • The user rejected app-based solutions and developer hiring due to cost concerns
  • Mentioned finding their own workaround (details not shared)
  • Another community member suggested contacting Shopify Support directly for alternative options

Key Issue: No native way to adjust draft order pricing for location-based or custom pricing without additional costs or inventory management complications. The discussion remains unresolved regarding free, built-in solutions.

Good Day! Its 2025, why can’t I edit the price on my draft order yet?

I have found multiple threads with people asking for this - the “workaround” from customer support is to create multiple duplicate products with different pricing.

I just need to edit my pricing on my draft orders to reflect different locations prices without paying more money for an additional application to make the system do something it should be doing anyway.

Does anyone have a workaround that won’t clog my inventory, won’t cost me a ton of money from hiring an “expert” or installing and paying for an app?

The Draftable app has a monthly fee after 5 actions and I am not willing to pay anyone to code this for me - especially since this should be a feature we should have access to without additional money spent.

I’m sure there is a tutorial somewhere and if not, I found my own work around. I don’t appreciate your aggressive solicitation on my thread and in my messages.

Hello there @QuarryLifeLLC I checked through the replies and I was about to recommend using an app before that, but since the cost isn’t really in your budget now I think your next step of action should be reaching out directly to Shopify Support and seeing what other options are available directly from a representative. You might not get a swift response today so I suggest trying that early tomorrow
