Occassionally, we’re unable to find the Preview link when editing products. Are there circumstances which would cause a product to not be Previewable or maybe it is a bug?

To clarify, is the preview option only working on a particular browser? If so, clearing your cache, or using Chrome Incognito mode when trying to generate the preview link may help resolve this.
If you’re using a free Shopify theme, I recommend downloading a new version of the theme to your admin to see if the preview loads on this version. To do this, just follow these steps:
- Log in to your Shopify admin
- Click on ‘Online store > Themes’
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click ‘Explore free themes’
- Click the theme you have been previously using
- Click ‘Add to theme library’
- Once downloaded under ‘Theme library’, click ‘Actions > Preview’ beside that theme
- Check to see if the bar loads at the bottom of the page with the ‘Share preview’ option
If you’re able to see the preview option on the fresh theme, but not on your other theme, then this issue may be tied to the theme that you’re using. If you’re using a Shopify-developed theme we can help look into this further. However, if you’re using a third-party theme instead, I suggest following these steps to speak with your theme developer about this directly.
If you are still running into trouble, I suggest checking the following:
- Product status: If a product is set to “draft” or “hidden,” it will not be previewable until it is published.
- App conflicts: Some third-party apps installed on your Shopify store may conflict with the product preview feature, causing it to not work as expected.
