Authenticating my Domain through DMARC is broken?

Topic summary

A user is struggling to authenticate their email domain through DMARC for Shopify. The main issues are:

Primary Problems:

  • When clicking “Review configuration,” no DNS records are displayed (typically 4 records should appear for copying)
  • The domain is purchased through Shopify itself, which may complicate the setup
  • DMARC Inspector shows a valid DMARC record exists, but Shopify continues to show “Domain authentication pending”

Current Status:

  • User received help from another community member who has since deleted their response
  • Attempted solutions included re-entering the email and waiting 24 hours, but authentication remains incomplete
  • The “pending” message persists beyond the stated 24-hour timeframe

Resolution: The issue remains unresolved. The user is seeking additional guidance on why Shopify isn’t recognizing the DMARC authentication despite external validation tools confirming the record exists.

I have been in the long process of trying to create a working website. I am trying to set up a DMARC record due to Shopify telling me that my email domain hasn’t been authenticated and will see my email as something else. Every thread or tutorial I find shows that under “Review configuration” it will list the 4 records that need to be copied and pasted.

  1. The first issue is that I don’t get provided any records when I click this option.

  1. The second issue is that my domain is provided BY Spotify.

  1. The final issue is when I check DMARC Inspector and put my domain, it says I have a valid DMARC record, but Shopify disagrees.

No matter what I do I can’t seem to complete: “Domain authentication for this email is pending. This can take up to 24 hours.” Any help is appreciated greatly!

Thank you! I re-entered the email and yet still I am not getting the 4 records typically provided. I also tried your 3. solution as well to no luck! I will wait 24 hours after doing these activities and see if anything has authenticated or updated. I will update this thread once 24 hours have passed or if I get any sort of change.

Replying to my own message as I noticed the individual who helped me ended up deleting their response. Regardless, I followed what they said to no avail, I am still having issues. Any help is still appreciated.
