I am looking to automate reports out of Shopify to an email list weekly, I have tried with Data Export but it looks like I can’t compare sales to LY. Any suggestions or apps that I can do this with?
I need Sales by product variant vs LY and units sold vs LY

There are several app that can work fine, one of them is Report Pundit: https://apps.shopify.com/report-pundit
Or if you want custom reporting, then you need to build a custom app according to your requirements.

If you need weekly automated reports that compare sales by product variant and units sold versus last year, the built-in Data Export tool can be a bit limiting. I’d suggest looking into third-party reporting apps that allow for more custom reporting and scheduling. I recommend checking out TrueProfit as it is first rank for tracking and reporting app. It offers custom reporting features and lets you schedule reports to be sent out automatically.

Since Shopify doesn’t currently offer the ability to automate report exports, you’ll need to explore a third-party app solution.
