Automatic Emails To Customers After Purchase

Hello,

I am looking for assistance with customizing the email sent to a customer after they have made a purchase. I am looking to include our logo, product use instructions, and a thank you.

Hey, @runwayhair !

Julie here from Shopify Support.

It’s great to hear that you’re wanting to customize your order confirmation emails to better match your brand. While you can most definitely hire a Shopify Expert to take care of this for you, I’d be happy to offer some guidance should you like to give this a try yourself!

All of your email templates can be customized in Settings > Notifications. From there, you can easily add a logo to your notification templates by selecting the Customize button, where you’ll then see an option to upload your logo. Here’s what that looks like:

Now that you’ve added your logo, let’s move forward with adding your product use instructions! To do this, head back to Settings > Notifications, where you’ll see a list of your notification templates. In this case, you’ll want to select the Order confirmation template.

Once you’ve done that, you’ll see quite a bit of code in the template editor – don’t let this intimidate you; you don’t need to be familiar with custom code to edit the text itself. Instead, you can simply locate the standard messaging that appears in the email, and then add your product use instructions immediately after it.

As for the “thank you” message, the email template already includes a “Thank you for your purchase!” message towards the beginning of the email, but you can also add this again towards the bottom if you like. For further guidance on adding custom messages to your emails, you can refer to our help doc on customizing specific email templates, which includes some screenshots to help you along.

After you’ve added your product use instructions, you can view your changes by selecting Actions > Preview towards the top right of your screen. If you’ve made any mistakes, that’s totally okay! You can easily restore the original email template by selecting the Revert to default option below the template editor.

That being said, if you would like someone to handle this for you, then I suggest hiring a Shopify Expert. Feel free to Create a job in the Shopify Experts Marketplace and perhaps reach out to a few directly for quotes. If you’re looking for some advice on how to create a job and find the right Expert, we have a help doc on hiring help that you can check out; this includes some information on how to browse for the right Expert and create an effective job posting so that you can get matched with an Expert that is best suited to your needs.

I hope this helps guide you in the right direction and I’m curious to know which route you end up taking! Feel free to respond here and let me know.
