Where there ever come a time when payments made by customers would automatically be picked up by Zopi from Shopify?

Zopi actually doesn’t pull funds directly from your Shopify payouts. When a customer pays on your Shopify store, Zopi syncs the order details over, and from there, you can either fulfill it in the Zopi Order Center or set up an automation flow using your linked payment method, which gives you full control over your cash flow and processing.
Do you usually prefer reviewing your orders manually before paying the supplier, or are you hoping to put your entire fulfillment process on complete autopilot?

Have you explored setting up automated rules and linking a payment method in Zopi?
Not yet because I have to be comfortable with funds coming out at any given time. I need to get a credit card that I can use for that purpose only. I’m working on this.
Yeah, a dedicated card is a great way to go–easier to keep track of things! Once you have it set up, you can create a test order and try out the automation on Zopi, or reach out to the Customer Support team for help setting up the flow
