How can I get the Background video section to play automatically without showing controls on the mobile version (screenshot attached). I need a CSS code I can use to modify it on the Theme Editor itself if possible. Here is the link to the page: https://www.atlascollectif.com/en-ae/collections/shop-by-category
Topic summary
-
Request: Autoplay a background video on mobile without showing controls, ideally via a CSS change in the theme editor. A page link and a screenshot were provided.
-
Finding: The page already supports video autoplay. The primary reason it does not autoplay on mobile is Safari on iOS when Low Power Mode is enabled, which disables automatic video playback to conserve battery.
-
Implications: This is a device/system setting limitation rather than a theme/CSS issue. CSS alone cannot override Safari’s Low Power Mode behavior.
-
Gaps: No CSS code or theme edit was provided to hide controls or force autoplay. The specific request to hide controls on mobile was not directly addressed.
-
Outcome/Status: The cause of the issue was identified and explained; the original poster acknowledged with thanks. The thread is effectively answered regarding why autoplay fails, but remains open in terms of a CSS-based solution to ensure autoplay or hide controls on mobile under Low Power Mode constraints.
Hi @Benzaindi
This is David at SalesHunterThemes.
I just checked your page and found that the video already supported for the auto play,
But the reason make video does not work on mobile is:
On Safari browser, many customers turn on the Low Power Mode on their phones, this is the reason the videos do not automatically play on mobile devices. When the customers turn on the Lower Power Mode on their phones, video will not play automatically as well.
