BE AWARE: "Shopify Capital Approvals" Spam E-mails

All day today and yesterday I’ve been inundated with e-mails with subject line “Shopify Capital Approvals”. The emails are not from Shopify at all, but rather “PIRS Capital”. My emails are from Mitchell Robert who is the “General Manager, Scams”…typo, I mean “General Manager, Sales”. Email links all take you to their website and has nothing to do with Shopify or the real Shopify Capital at all. They have a lending product called “Shopify Capital” which is totally ripping off the real Shopify. Be aware. Shopify, you may want to make them stop using your good name to lure people into opening or responding to their e-mails or even actually getting loans from these people.

You can verify if an email is from Shopify by checking the email domain, if the email does not end in** @Shopify_77 .com**without any added characters, we can assume it is a phishing email.

Could you forward the email to safety@shopify.com? As this will allow our team to look to put a stop to the phishing campaign.
