The new update has categorized inventory as “committed” vs. “available” until the shipping label is created. this is causing “over-selling” with popular items. Can i turn this feature off?
Same problem here. Does anyone know if this can be disabled?
Yes, I find this very confusing. Does “available” reflect actual stock, or stock minus “committed”? There are some committed figures showing in my inventory that need to be deleted and I don’t know how to.
They won’t let me enter my post due to Post Flooding. So here it is:
Committed inventory is not helping me. When an order ships from a fulfillment warehouse vs. our warehouse, we do not have the time to go back manually mark it Fulfilled. The system has now gone back on hundreds of orders across hundreds of SKUs and assigned them as Committed. This then adjusts the On Hand inventory which we manually monitor. This creates erroneous On Hand. It might make On Hand zero without our knowledge = no sale. I saw an item at -1 yesterday.
Though I haven’t figured it out yet, I’m seeing items that we have zero morphing into 1, 2, 3… This can become costly when an order is entered based on phantom On Hand. We then have to refund and Shopify keeps the credit card merchant fee!
Anybody know how to turn off this stupid feature? Who would use Shopify for inventory management, ugh.
