How can I reset committed inventory to zero?

Is there any way to zero committed inventory?

I have inventory that is committed by no outstanding/pending orders.

Thanks

Facing a new issue with some of our products. We show inventory as “committed” but when checking the orders that are listed under “committed”, those orders are already fulfilled. Is there a reason that fulfilled orders would be showing under “committed” inventory on product pages?
And, is there a way to clear out the “committed” inventory if the orders have already been fulfilled?

I have this same problem. Support so far no help. I wonder if anyone has solved it yet?

Previously we had a similar problem where we hade negative “reserved” inventory with no associated orders. The only solution we found was to duplicate the product and delete the original – not ideal.

I am having the same challenge. Mine is as a result of team member creating a return in the system but on an order that hadn’t been fulfilled. What that means is 55 of an item are sitting permanently in “committed” even though the stock is returned. Is there a way to override the fulfilment issue that has created the problem? As the order has technically been “returned” it can’t be simply deleted. Aaaargh

I am having the same problem. A customer changed their mind about a particular product in their order and asked for it to be removed. We removed it, refunded them then fulfilled and shipped the remainder of their order but the product that was removed is still showing as being committed. Please help.

The same issue affects me.

Has anyone managed to solve it yet?

This started out as a small bug that was fixable by duplicating the item and deleting the original. But that’s inconvenient. Now it’s a widespread issue. Inventory is showing as committed for 100% fulfilled orders.

Shopify staff: we need a fix for this ASAP. It’s quickly and completely ruining our inventory numbers, and I know for a fact that we aren’t the only account that’s experiencing this.

ahh. did this ever get a resolve?

30 Jul 2024 and facing same issue - order #1024 is 100% fulfilled and paid for, but (part of) order is still under “committed” inventory.

“Committed” should be 0, and “available” should equal “on-hand”.

update: I tried cancelling fulfillment and removing the “committed” item, but refreshed inventory still indicates item is committed…

update2: I cancelled the whole order and item is still committed, and now I can’t undo the order cancellation. don’t do it :slightly_smiling_face:

@Shopify_77 please fix this bug and discrepancy:

  • fix updating of “Committed” based on order fulfillment status (something’s broken here)

  • allow manual reset of “Committed” to 0

I have the same issue, 20 plus items still committed to an order that was fully fulfilled in January 2024. I will be writing to support.

Please do! This seems like another simple shopify order basic code issues in calculating a figure for the most basic use. There is still no solution that has been resolved for the shopify order unfulfilled bubble next to orders. All of these orders are fulfilled but still showing as committed. Most of them are related to previous subscription orders from Appstle but not all.
