I want to reactivate my store from being paused to a new monthly plan, but I still hope to have a 7-day free trial. Is it possible?
Not when using the same account. It will start you off with money payments without a free trial period. You would have to create a new Shopify account to get the free trial again but then you would be starting from scratch.
Thank you for the reply. When I create a new Shopify account and new website, can I migrate the old Shopify to the new one?
Hi, @ShirleyChai .
Welcome to the Shopify Community!
As @beauxbreaux has mentioned, once you’ve moved past the free trial period, you can’t revert back to it. If you unpause your store, you’ll need to select a paid plan to reactivate your store and resume. You can find more information in our Pausing or Deactivating Your Store resource.
If you have additional questions on getting started, feel free to share them here, and I’ll be happy to take a look.
Hi @Victoria_13 ,
Thanks for your quick reply. I understand I need to create a new account to get a free trial. My question is, if I create a new Shopify with a new website, can I migrate the old one to the new one?
No problem, @ShirleyChai .
Yes, you can certainly migrate your old Shopify store’s information to the new Shopify store you’ve created.
You can transfer over information such as products, customers, historical orders, gift cards, certificates, and store credits, blogs and page (shipping policy, contact, and other webpages). You can do this using either a CSV file, a migration app from the Shopify App Store or through API.
While the information above can be transferred via a CSV file, there is some information that will need to be entered manually. I’ll share the list below.
- You can’t import your visitor traffic data because you’re now tracking a new
.myshopify.comdomain. - Orders can’t be imported into a store through the Shopify admin, but they can be imported through the Shopify API. This is not supported by Shopify. You can hire a Shopify Partner to get help with importing orders into the new store.
- Discount codes can’t be transferred.
- Issued gift cards can’t be transferred (gift card products are transferred by using the product CSV file).
- Your saved custom reports can’t be transferred.
- Visitor traffic data can’t be transferred.
I recommend reading our guide on Backups and Duplication to ensure you haven’t missed any steps during the migration process. If you have a custom domain on your old Shopify store that you’d like to use on the new Shopify store, check out our resource on Transfer your Shopify-managed domain to a different Shopify store.
Let me know if you have any questions!
Thank you, Victoria, I got it!
No problem!
