Merchant using a UK Ltd company on Shopify Payments was prompted to provide a utility bill for address verification but doesn’t have bills in their name due to living with parents. They asked if alternative documents (e.g., bank account maintenance certificate or a company letter mailed to their home) could be accepted.
Support advised either replying to the verification email to request acceptable alternatives or contacting Shopify Support to have the Payments team review other documents. (Shopify Payments is Shopify’s built-in processor and requires proof of address for compliance.)
Outcome: The merchant contacted support directly and reported the issue was resolved. Specifics on which alternative document was accepted were not disclosed. The thread is resolved with no remaining open questions.
I have activated my Shopify Payments based on my UK Ltd company details.
Now Shopify asked me to provide them only Utilities bill for my Address Verification.
My question is that Can I provide any other documents other than My utility bills because I’m currently living with my parents and My Name is not mentioned in any Utilities bill. However I have other authorised documents available for the address verification with my Name on them.
( i-e Bank Account Mantaince Certificate or My Company’s letter dispatched at my home address)
