Hello,

I have a deactivated store with a domain I bought a year ago. I got an email from Shopify today reminding me that it’s due for renewal and will renew automatically if auto renew is enabled.

Is it possible to check and turn off auto renew without incurring a fee for re-activating my store?

Yes, you can check and turn off the auto-renewal of your domain without reactivating your Shopify store. Here’s how:

  1. Log into your Shopify Admin: Even with a deactivated store, you should still be able to log in to access your domain settings.

  2. Access Domain Settings:

    • In your Shopify admin, go to Settings (bottom-left corner).
    • Click on Domains.

  3. Check the Domain Status:

    • Look for the domain you purchased. Next to the domain, there will be an option that shows if auto-renewal is enabled.

  4. Disable Auto-Renewal:

    • If auto-renew is on, there should be an option to turn it off. Disable the auto-renew to prevent the domain from renewing automatically.

You won’t incur a fee for reactivating your store to access the domain settings, as you are simply managing the domain rather than reactivating the full store.

I have tried this method as described above and I still can’t cancel the domain name without re-activating the store.

I have a same issue and thats not help! Because when i logged in. It says I canceled my plan and I need to renew it.. it won’t let me set anything until then.. what should I do?
