Can't find a way to contact shopify about missing order without a confirmation link

Topic summary

  • Buyer reports a non-delivered $80 order from drivescreen.shop, cannot reach the merchant, and has no confirmation email/URL because no email was collected at checkout; only an order number is available.

  • Sought a way to contact Shopify directly after Shopify’s missing-order report requested a confirmation URL the buyer doesn’t have.

  • Shopify staff clarifies that Shopify is an ecommerce platform and does not handle shipping or orders for independent stores.

  • Recommended actions: contact the merchant via any confirmation email (if available) or the store’s on-site contact details.

  • If the merchant remains unresponsive and 30+ days have passed, contact the payment provider (e.g., PayPal or card issuer) to dispute the charge.

  • Filing a payment dispute, if the store is using Shopify, will trigger an internal review of that store.

  • No direct Shopify email/phone provided for resolving individual orders; Shopify support cannot intervene in specific shipments.

  • Status: unresolved; next steps are merchant contact, then payment dispute after 30 days.

I bought from drivescreen.shop which is using shopify to sell. It never arrived, so I tried contacting the shop but they didn’t answer.

It’s been months and a few more attempts so I’m now trying to contact shopify instead, but when I tried to report a missing order they asked me for a confirmation URL that I was supposed to get through email. I was never asked to give my email when ordering, so I don’t have the confirmation URL. I do have the confirmation number and the rest of the details for my order. It really feels like I got scammed out of 80$ and I have nothing to do about it.

Is there a website/email/phone number/whatever I can contact?

Hi there, @RoyBetsalel !

It sounds like you’re referring to an order you made with a store online.

Shopify is an ecommerce software merchants around the world use to build stores for their own independent businesses.

We do not handle shipping or orders for these stores ourselves here in Shopify at all.

As such, you would need to reach out to the store you ordered from if you’re looking for support with the order you have made.

Try replying to any confirmation they would have sent you, or try checking on the store page itself for contact info you can use to ask them about your order.

If you’re not able to contact the store you ordered from for a resolution and 30 days or more have passed you can next contact the payment method you used (PayPal, card issuer, etc) to make this order to let them know what has happened.

Should you raise a dispute in this way and should the store in question prove to be using Shopify this will also trigger an internal review of that store.
