Can't make collection available to online sales channel

I created a collection in my store based on some criteria, and on the collection detail page, I can see the products showing up towards the bottom that are in the collection. There is a small panel on the upper right that says “Collection Availability” with a blue link that says “Manage”. I click “Manage” and then check the “online store” checkbox, but the products do not show up on the actual collection page on my storefront.

If I drill into one of the products in the collection, it says “Product Status” is equal to “Active”, but the under “Sales Channels and Apps” it shows 0 selected despite having made the whole collection available as mentioned above.

What am I doing wrong? I know I can go into each product one by one in the collection and make them available to the online sales channel, but that is very tedious and there has got to be an easier way.

Making a collection available in a specific sales channel (Online Sales) does not automatically make all products under the collection available in the sales channels. In other words, if you have 5 products under a collection - you have to make each product available under the desired sales channel. If not, your collection will turn up empty on the website with no products listed under it. I know it sounds counter-intuitive, but that has been my experience in the past.
