I revisitied my store after several months to discover that the checkout button is completely not functional. I have not made any changes to the store in the last several months, and it was working perfectly fine previously. What could be the issue here?

Poor communication from lack of effort in critical detail is major indicator of future failure don’t make a habit of it.
Just do best guess troubleshooting.
Disable all apps.
Reinstall new copy of theme.
Make sure payment method settings are properly setup
etc etc etc.
Would reinstalling the theme remove all products and design elements from the store?
what do themes have to do with product data.
Just install a copy and learn.
