Content API

Topic summary

Main issue: A merchant using two intended Google Merchant Center (GMC) feeds (AU and NZ) from the “Multiple Google Shopping feeds” app is seeing an unwanted third feed labeled “Content API.” Deleting it in GMC doesn’t help, as it’s auto-recreated by an app the merchant can’t identify.

Context and terms: GMC “Content API” feeds are typically auto-generated by apps that sync products to Google (e.g., the Google sales channel/app). The merchant wants to stop this and keep only the two existing feeds.

Updates and guidance:

  • Thread moved to the API forum for developer/partner input; dev docs linked for reference.
  • Suggested fix: remove or disconnect the Google app (with the Google logo), which likely auto-creates the Content API feed:
    • Sales Channel > Google > Disconnect
    • Or uninstall the Google app entirely if not needed.

Status: No confirmed resolution yet. Key next step is to verify whether disconnecting/removing the Google sales channel stops the Content API feed from being recreated. The discussion remains open.

Hi,

we’ve always had two feed inputs directed to google merchant center, one for Australia and one for New Zealand, both created with the “Multiple Google Shopping feeds” app, but recently a third feed was added called “content API” that from some google research, I understood is created automatically from one of our other apps, I’d like that to stop and to only use the two previous feeds but apparently even deleting the "content API feed from GMC, that’d be recreated automatically by the app and I’m not able to understand which app is doing that, any ideas?

Hi there @testarAU !

I just wanted to let you know I have moved your query here to our dedicated API forum.

As we’re not in a position to provide API support ourselves, these forums are available and are moderated and responded to by our own developers and Partners.

As such, it’s the best place to look for info on anything regarding our API.

If you haven’t already, you can check out our developer API resource docs here.

Hopefully, you’ll be able to get some more informed feedback for your query in these dedicated threads.

All the best!

Remove the Google App, with the Google logo if this is what you accidentally added.

You can also disconnect the Google app with the Google log under Sales Channel > Google > disconnect
