So i have had a night mare of a time with google merchant for the past month.
I ended up using the app Multifeeds and they go it working.
Now my merchant center keeps populating the content API feed.
In the sales channel part of the backend i dont have that conected to google merchant.
My products however are still using that as one of their 4 sales channels. (google and youtube)
Do i need to remove that sales channels from the products page in admin or is there something else i am missing?
The reason is for some reason when it uses the content API it doesnt recognise the variants of my products so either will put them as disapproved ( cause they are using the smaller size as the main price and i have 3 sizes with different prices of the same type of product)
Again if anyone on here could help me with this i will forever be grateful
I used to LOVE google but omg now the word raises my blood pressure haha.
Hi Emmanuel, I have tried the above solution of diconnecting from the GMC app in settings. However, this also disconnects my youtube account from shopify. Means the items no longer appear in my youtube store.
My main sales channel is youtube as I have a channel.
Is there any other way to stop the interference from Google app content API?
Unfortunately not, you will have to choose which app you want to use. I am sure in the future Google will allow shopping listings on Youtube using 3rd party apps.
I need youtube store ads since that’s really my #1 traffic source.
I need to have GMC to deliver my feed to multiple countries, the google&youtube app is also restricted to only 1 country.
If I modify the Content API that google&youtube app is sending in GME and manually setup my shipping rates for each region - will that work? Or will content API just keep periodically being overwritten to default 1 country and disturbing my feeds.
Similar issue here but the data from Multifeed is coming through the same content api source. So removing content api means also removing the multifeed data. Or am I wrong here?
