Continuous Loading When Navigating Back Using Browser Button

Hi Folks,

We are encountering problems with our E-commerce website (Link: https://lecomptoirdefrance.com/).

To reproduce the issue, please follow these steps:

  1. Visit the homepage and select any collection.
  2. Choose a specific product and proceed to its details page.
  3. Now, click the back button on your browser, and you will notice the page loading screen.

This issue has been observed on various operating systems such as Mac, Ubuntu, and Windows, using both Brave and Chrome browsers.

Hi, @AntonyRoshan .

This is Rio from the Shopify Community Team. Thank you for sharing that with me. I’ve tested it out and I was able to replicate it on my end.

To further investigate the issue, could you please try using an old version of the theme and see if the loading icon still appears?

Additionally, I would like to know when you first noticed this issue and what theme you are currently using.

If you can share some more details we can try to identify the issue and reverse it.

Hi, @Rio

Thank you for verifying the issue. Here are some additional details regarding the theme:

The problem of continuous loading when navigating back has been persisting for the past few weeks, approximately 4 to 6 weeks.

Please let us know if you require any further information or if there’s anything else we can provide to help resolve this issue.

Thanks for that information, @AntonyRoshan .

I’m unable to find the Gecko theme. Was this a third-party theme? If it was purchased through the Shopify theme store, or a free theme it should be fairly easy to troubleshoot.

Third-party themes that aren’t built by Shopify or our partners are hard to troubleshoot as generally, the partner will code customizations that tend to break as the platform updates.

Do you remember/ still have contact with the team, or site you purchased the theme from? If you can get in touch with them, they should have an updated theme version that would adjust to any updates with Shopify hopefully.

Can you try giving the theme developer a message and let them know about this issue? Hopefully, this is something they’re aware of it and it will just be a simple fix.
