Hi,
Is there a loyalty app that has the option for a customer to register or upload an offline purchase made from a grocery store and earn points for that purchase?
The idea is to have a link or a QR code on the product label that encourages the shopper to scan to create an account on our website and then register the purchase to earn certain rewards.
Thank you
hello there
Yes, there are loyalty apps available for Shopify that have the option for a customer to register or upload an offline purchase made from a grocery store and earn points for that purchase. Here are some loyalty apps that offer this feature:
-
LoyaltyLion: LoyaltyLion allows customers to earn points for offline purchases by uploading a picture of their receipt. The app also offers the ability to create QR codes for in-store purchases that can be scanned to earn rewards.
-
Smile.io: Smile.io offers a feature called “Offline Earning” that allows customers to earn points for purchases made outside of the online store. This feature requires manual approval by the store owner or manager, and customers can earn points by submitting a request through the store’s loyalty program.
-
Rise.ai: Rise.ai offers a feature called “Offline Redemption” that allows customers to redeem rewards for purchases made outside of the online store. This feature requires manual approval by the store owner or manager, and customers can redeem rewards by submitting a request through the store’s loyalty program.

Thank you. After checking the 3 apps, none of them supports brick and mortar purchase upload!
Hey there!
You might want to check out Snap Rewards- it was built specifically for exactly this kind of use case.

Snap Rewards lets customers upload a photo of their in-store or offline receipt (e.g., from a grocery store) and automatically validates it using our receipt OCR technology. Once validated, the customer can earn a reward, like a discount on their next online purchase or loyalty points, depending on how you set up the campaign.
Here’s how it works:
- You can add a QR code or short link to your product packaging.
- When a customer scans it, they’re taken to your store (we support Shopify theme extensions, so it looks native).
- They create an account (if needed), and upload their receipt to claim a reward.
- We handle validation (automated or manual), issue one-time discount codes, and let you track which products and stores are generating conversions.
Snap Rewards is great if you’re trying to:
- Convert retail shoppers into online customers
- Capture first-party customer data from offline sales
- Understand where your products are being sold or resold
It’s live on the Shopify App Store and really easy to set up. We offer three different UI experiences (a wizard, a one-pager, or gated behind account creation)
Hey @NadaResheidat!
This is actually a really cool idea and yeah, there’s a way to make it work.
You might want to check out Loloyal. It lets you set up a loyalty program where customers can earn points for purchases both online and offline. If you’re using Shopify POS, it syncs automatically, so no need for manual uploads. But if you’re selling through grocery stores or other retail channels, you could still make it work by creating a custom flow, like adding a QR code on the packaging that links to an account sign-up or form, and then manually awarding points based on what they submit.
It’s super flexible, supports referrals, VIP tiers, and custom rewards too. Definitely worth a look if you want something that’s easy to use but powerful enough for this kind of setup.
Hope this helps a bit! If it does, feel free to mark it as a solution so others can find it too
