Hello Asli, thank you for your question and sorry to hear you have bad experience with Google Support, honestly this is very normal. Google only helps you to get you to spend, and setup things to get you to spend more, or even hide setups within your budget to spend more. That is their goal. And in most cases you are not even talking to Google Support, but a 3rd agency that is hired by Google for the purpose to get users to spend more.
As explained, everyone has this issue, I get tons of emails every week from these people, and refuse to talk to them, because they are full of it.
Unfortunately, there is no correct setup, for example if you are a reseller of someone else’s brand, I would setup an advanced standard shopping campaign: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CiRIDzRrHno
But if you are a brand owner, I might setup a PMax campaign excluding brands. Or even setup based on top sellers vs low sellers etc.
There are a ton of strategies, and what works best for you, depends on a lot of factors.
What you are selling, what your budget is, etc.
The only way to know what works is by experimenting, then analyze the data and improve or change.
