I have activated shopify payments and it says it is working. When i go into checkout the only available option is paypal. When i try to check out in test mode the credit card options work.
Topic summary
Issue: Merchants report that, despite Shopify Payments being activated and showing as working, the credit card option does not appear at checkout in live mode. Only PayPal (and for some, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, and Google Pay) are available. In test mode, standard credit card fields appear as expected.
Details and attempts:
- One suggestion claims credit card fields are tied to the browser and only show if card info is stored, but multiple users dispute this and say it doesn’t resolve the problem.
- Multiple confirmations indicate the issue affects several stores, not an isolated case.
Context: Test mode is a setting that simulates payments; live mode should show real credit card options when Shopify Payments is active.
Status: No confirmed solution or configuration fix is shared in the thread. At least one user reports no response from support for over two weeks.
Open questions: Why live-mode credit card options are hidden; whether this is due to account configuration, eligibility, region, or a platform-side issue. The discussion remains unresolved.
The credit card information is tied to the browser. It will only show if credit card information is entered and share by your browser

Were you able to resolve this? I’m having the same problem and can’t figure it out. Credit cards option shows up fine in test mode, but not when I turn off test mode.
