Deleting a store-name.myshopify.com domain

Is there a way to delete the original store-name.myshopify.com domain from your store? There is no button to edit the domain either.

I started my free trial with the myshopify.com domain and have since bought a domain through shopify that doesn’t have the myshopify.com at the end.

I keep seeing the myshopify.com domain on my domains page and also on the shop share links, like the “share password” link. Because I decided to change my brand name before purchasing a domain, the names are completely different and confusing when being redirected to the right domain.

Thanks you for your time!

Hi,** @fuxuebane **.

All accounts on Shopify are identified via their .myshopify.com URL. This URL can’t be removed or changed, as this acts as your account identification which you use to login to your store, as well as for authentication purposes when contacting our live support team. You can find more information about this on our help guide here.

If you try to access your store’s custom domain, does that redirect your page to one that reflects this format: yourcustomdomain.com/password?

For stores that are on an active paid plan and with an active custom domain, the password page should reflect the format I mentioned above.

Is your store still on its free trial period?
