How to delete " Shopify managed domain" - 04/2022

I have changed the name of the store but the old Shopify managed domain is still showing up in admin panel which is extremely annoying.

Shopify support team, interestingly quite incompetent in resolving this issue so far, any one with any ideas please?

Based on what you shared, it sounds like you changed your store name (or added a custom domain) but are still seeing the .myshopify.com URL in the browser bar when accessing your admin, is that correct?

Currently, you are unable to change your .myshopify.com URL once you’ve created the store. This is because each .myshopify URL acts as a unique identifier for a merchant’s shop.

This will always be used for log-in purposes and displayed in the browser bar when accessing the admin. However, your customers will never see this domain once you’ve added a custom domain. If for some reason you really need to change it, the only way is to set up a new store and use the new name.

May I ask if there’s a particular reason for your request? I’d be happy to pass along any feedback you share. In the meantime, I’d love to hear more about your business. Is this a new venture you’ve started?

Your interpretation is spot on!

However, I changed the store Domain only as I have an important store to launch but id be using the original store later.

Like you suggested, I have deactivated the store and have launched new but thats not a sustainable solution, I lost 10 days of my paid subscription!!

May be you could possibly share it with developers, surely there can be other identifiers linked to unique businesses ( or store) than Shopify Managed Domain. Its totally viable and saves lots of hassle.
