Digital Marketing strategy

I’m about to launch my new Ecommerce store drilling pet supplies. I feel overwhelmed and don’t know where to start with my online marketing strategy. Please help!

In my opinion, the best way to start with this is to take a step back and ask yourself what kind of problem you’re trying to solve for pet owners.
If you’re a pet owner yourself you probably know a few that you could start with but if not just do some research on different pet groups online like subreddits and facebook groups.

Once you know what problem you want to solve for pet owners you can start marketing.

Your marketing can be as simple as you just starting a Instagram account or YouTube channel talking about your experience with whatever problem you’re trying to solve.

Try your best to be genuine and actually talk about potential solutions to the problem in your content.

Also share relatable stories about how the problem has impacted your life and what helped you get through it.

And please don’t push your products too much at this point. You can mention it but you don’t want to sound too sale-sy.

I think a good strategy could be to make some content to get people to know your store exists and you’re trying to solve “X” problem and to try to build up an email list first. Focusing on building an email list is a great way to engage people in your audience and connect with them before asking for a sale.

Plus they can help give you feedback on your website and help improve your messaging and overall site experience.

And as you send emails to them, you can promote your products. A good rule of them could be to promote your products in 1 out of every 5 emails.

It might seem like a drag to focus on making content and building a list but it’ll be a powerful asset for you once you figure out how to do it in a way that works for you and your brand.

Now once you have an email list that is growing, you can start promoting your products to get your first sale.

And once you do get it, reach out to the customer that bought from you and ask for feedback and possibly a review.

Rinse a repeat that strategy until you’re able to get consistent sales.

Overtime you’ll begin to collect reviews and start to get sales without people having to join your list first.
