We currently use Recharge subscriptions and all subscriptions have 15% off by default. We want to run an additional offer for 30% off the first 3 recurring orders. The code works well, however, on the checkout page, there is a note saying that recurring charges and the amount shows only 15% off, instead of the discounted 30% off. Any ideas how I can change this, or temporarily remove this line until the offer is over. I think customers will get confused when they see this and won’t order. I’ve attached a screenshot. We don’t have shopify plus. Any help, guidance appreciated! Τhank you https://kiki-health.com/
Hey there Gina @gina16 I’m not entirely sure on how to solve this issue maybe your best course of action would be to get in touch with their customer service if they have one. If no solution is found, I’d suggest you try out the Seal Subscriptions App on the Shopify site.
I’m not deeply familiar with Recharge, but it seems like the discount is being calculated based on the original product price — likely the compare-at price. However, at checkout, Shopify only displays the actual sale price. That’s a core limitation of how Shopify handles pricing — the compare-at price isn’t reflected in the checkout display.
So what you’re seeing is a mismatch: the discount is calculated using one price, but displayed with another. Unfortunately, there’s not much you can do about that without changing your setup entirely — for example, applying the coupon to a separate product that hasn’t already been discounted by 15%.
And, surely, the Recharge support team will be able to give you a better answer here…
You can achieve this using the AON Subscription app—it offers a wide range of features that many existing apps currently lack. Our agency has started transitioning to it, and it’s been quite impressive so far. The best part is that it’s free at the moment, though the developers plan to introduce pricing in the future.
Hi @gina16 , I was a part a subscription app team for 3-4 years and this was a common issue that we ran into.
Unfortunately this recurring subtotal field is calculated by Shopify and it doesn’t include any applied discounts in the calculation and only takes the selling plan discount into account.
I’m not aware if there’s any recent changes Shopify has pushed that could resolve this. The best course of action here would be to reach out to Shopify support and point out this issue (most likely they will redirect you to the app provider itself) - but you can let them know that this issue persists even on Shopify’s subscription app too.
