Does QB to Shopify Migration overwrite data already in Shopify?

We already have a live store on Shopify.

When migrating QB POS data to Shopify does using these files replace what’s in shopify or add to them? For instance for the inventory numbers… if there are 4 of an item in shopify, and 8 on the inventory sheet, does it become 12 in shopify or 8?

Documentation states the following but a bit ambiguous - seems that inventory numbers on the data will overwrite any inventory already on the store? When migrating QuickBooks POS data to Shopify, your inventory numbers are transferred and mapped to Shopify products. This ensures your inventory levels remain accurate post-migration

It doesn’t overwrite what’s in your online store. So, you have to go in to manually adjust your inventory count and merge POS duplicates with your online inventory.

Haven’t attempted this yet. Are you able to merge products?
